COVID-19 Statement

Dear Railroad Square Cinema patrons,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Railroad Square Cinema will be closing and suspending all screenings and events until further notice as we respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. This decision is based on an abundance of caution to protect the health and safety of our community and staff. We will re-open when it is safe to do so, based on all available information and guidelines from health and public safety officials. If you have pre-ordered tickets online and would like a refund, please email and we will be in touch with you.

We know you have come to love the programming that Railroad Square has offered these past 42 years, and we hope you can appreciate the severe financial situation this temporary closure will impose; we would be very grateful if any patrons who have pre-ordered tickets would consider donating them or putting them on hold for a future screening. As you may know, arts organizations will rely ever-more on the generosity and support of their patrons in the coming months: if you would like to make a donation to support Railroad Square Cinema, you may do so at

Again, we truly appreciate your patronage and look forward to a day in the hopefully not-so-distant future when we can illuminate the screens of Railroad Square Cinema and celebrate the best of independent film.

Wishing you safety and health,

Mike Perreault, Alan Sanborn, and Ken Eisen
