Introduced by the director, Todd Warger!

The Mountain Runners tells the incredible true story of America’s first mountain adventure race, held in 1911. The grueling marathon to the summit of Mt. Baker, a 10,781 foot volcanic, glacial peak in Washington state, compelled 14 runners to race to the summit in blizzard conditions… and return. Many would start…few would finish. The men who ran these races in 1911-1913 were not professional athletes, but practiced a variety of vocations, including logger, coal miner, bedspring maker, postman, milkman, wrestler and insurance salesman. All who ran the race defied death and injury for a $100.00 purse of double-eagle gold coins. Unrated but would likely be G. 90 Min.
